XML Publisher Issue

Oracle, Business Intelligence, Data/Application Integration, Oracle development, XML

We can't output a concurrent request via XML Publisher...

We can create data definitions and link data templates (.rtf files) through the app, when we attach a data.xml preview file, we can preview the output correctly.

When we actually attempt to run the concurrent request, the output shows the actual XML data, not the formatted result... Any ideas?

You probably have an incorrect code on your template. You may have to disable your templates and recreate them with the correct code because you cannot change the code.

Verify that the make sure that the code on the template matches the short name in the concurrent programs screen.
Also check MLS Function, if it is not blank or null make it blank.

i appreciate the quick response.

All Short names match -> concurrent request, Executable, .rdf, & code.

Everything is in the custom schema: concurrent request, Executable, .rdf, & data def and template.

This is an invoice - the .rdf was simply copied from the standard invoice into the Custom schema (and renamed UESRAINV.rdf). The short names are all UESARINV.

Concurrent request was copied from standard and format changed to XML.

MLS function shouldn’t need to be blank (still didn’t work blank and we have others that have an MLS function)…

Any other ideas? I have end dated and recreated the data def and template from scratch numerous times as well…

I appreciate any insight.

It could also be that your template application does not match your concurrent report application. For example, all custom reports are placed in the Business online interface application in our instances. You may have created the invoice template with the Receivables application. This is just another scenario that I’ve had happen to me. From what you’ve told me it looks like something in the template is not matching the concurrent request.

I ended up end dating my def and Template and rebuilding from scratch (yet again) - it worked. took screen shots of old vs working - don’t see any difference - who knows…

Thanks again for your help.
