 Excel Imported Data
AS/400 import/export, Microsoft Excel
Import data from an AS400 using the query function in XL. Hangs. Connection is ok, finds the tables but when it tries to retrieve records an write to XL work sheet it just hangs. Can anyone help. I believe it is a job on the AS400, but which one?

I have tried files with 100 records and 100000 records. Makes no difference.

Hi MECA,

Have you tried using the iSeries access download program? If you can download the data from there then it might be an XL problem, maybe a component is corrupted and you need to reinstall it. But if you cannot from the iSeries Access download program then it might be a data problem (those programs use SQL and there might be a data conversion problem).
