Xen 4.1 upgrade and backup problems
We have one physical server running Xen 4.0 with 3 virtual machines (VMs): 1st VM - Appserver 1 drive capacity 50GB and used space 25GB 2nd VM - PDC 2 drives c: 20GB used out of 50GB , E: 60GB out of 200GB 3rd VM - SQLserver 2 drives c: 30GB used out of 50GB , E: 80GB out of 150GB I wanted to upgrade to 4.1, so I thought of backing up all three VMs. Appserver and SQLserver were backed up properly, but I am having lots of problems exporting PDC. (I have an external HDD which is shared on another PC.) The problem is that whenever I am trying to export PDC it backs up ok for 12 hours and exactly after 12 hours it gives an error "An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.” I dont know why it quits after 12 hours. Another question is that while it’s backing up, the size of the xva.tmp file reaches more than 180GB before it quits whereas on the original server total disk spaced used by the disk is about 78GB only. How can disk usage space of about 80GB take up more than 180GB while it’s backing up?
