 Problems Installing WSUS v3.0 SP2
WSUS Server Configuration Wizard 3.0 SP2 I am having problems completing WSUS configuration with this Error Message: An unexpected error occurred, and this wizard must be closed. You may restart the WSUS server configuration wizard from the options page in the WSUS 3.0 console. I went to WSUS console and try to connect to server by putting in my server name and port number which is 443 using the SSL. But an error message comes up stating I need to verify that IIS on the server is correctly configured and is running. And it is running because I am able to connect to it. Is it something else like group policy stopping me from continuing the WSUS configuration or something I need to enable to allow it to continue? This is my first time installing WSUS and working with IIS. So I am lost right now. As of now doing research on this problem. I am using Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition 64 Bit with IIS Manager 7.0 See below of installations done so far. Installation done so far: Web Server (IIS) Application Server Microsoft Report Viewer WSUS was successfully installed but the wizard message did not pop up to continue configuration

I’ve had similar problems before. You need to check the WSUS requirements very carefully. There are a bunch of IIS features that need installing.

Have a look through this:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd939916(v=ws.10).aspx

It perhaps may not be best practice, but I’ve had WSUS working on boxes with AD without any problems…… :-/
