Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Hi,

Assuming you mean with an AS400. This will depend on how you make your connection. You can normally specify a workstation Id in your client software. Once you have made your connection (you see the signon screen) the workstation is allocated.

Martin Gilbert.

Oh — I thain that would be in your client access – communication – configure – but I’m not sure how.

Hi,

From client access workstation session – communication -> configure -> under workstation Id, select specify workstation, then type the workstation name, click on OK to save the settings.

Regards,

Martin Gilbert.

Martin I saw all of that but does that actually use the device description? I can see the job is named based on the workstation ID but …

Phil

Hi Phil,

The workstation device is normally used for the job name for interactive jobs. If you check the configuration status on the device WRKCFGSTS then you’ll see your job uses that device (quite often this is set to use the QPADEVxxxx devices).

Regards,

Martin Gilbert.

Martin
Tks for clarifing that
