 WRKJOBSCDE vs SBMJOB
AS/400 job scheduler, SBMJOB, Submit Job, Work with Job Schedule Entries, WRKJOBSCDE
I have a job in the job scheduler that runs at 00:30 everynight. I scheduled another job using SBMJOB to run at 01:00. Both these jobs missed the time because a Backup was running ... but when the backup finished I thought the job entry for 00:30 would have kicked off first BUT it did not ... the submitted job for 01:00 ran first then the job entry for 00:30 ran second. Why?

Your submitted job was queued in the jobq when you submitted it, but it would only run after 1:00. When it turned 00:30, the job scheduler placed the job in the same queue after your submitted job.
