WRKDBF
We use wrkdbf and its global undelete and on demand (option 8) does not work with V5R4 (thanks IBM) I have applied the patch from the undel2 library but it does not work on production libraries or do multiple records at a time. It appears to be using my QTEMP and once that is created it does not work anymore. Does anyone have a true fix for this since wrkdbf.com is no longer available? Thanks

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

You don’t say what level of UNDEL2 you are working with, but this page mentions a November update. I have never used UNDEL, but have heard of others using it successfully on V5R4. It may very well be only one record at a time (I don’t know), but I’m reasonably confident you can use it more than once.

It is also my understanding (again without having used) that there are some companies that market tools with the undelete capability. ProData is one that comes to mind.

We are using the 2.0.4. Very weird that no data is returned for a production library undeleted record.

A far better solution would simply be to APYJRNCHG from the file's journal. OS releases, system security levels, library *PROD/*TEST attributes, etc., would not interfere with recovery; and if it failed to work properly, IBM would be on the hook to get it fixed. Tom
