My former company posted a batch of brand new back-up media which was fairly pricey when originally bought – so that would have offered a good savings to someone else. There was no time for the company to build up a good reputation – and I personally wouldn’t buy anything over $5-10 without seeing that.

Someone I know bought a (cheap) SS7 protocol analyzer a couple of years ago, and it didn’t work as expected. As one of these would usually be much more expensive, he decided to take the risk, and he ended up losing some bucks.
