HI, I have a situation we have made 500 device description (e.g. IT01, IT02...) for display and assigned each workstation id to user. After creating devices we changed the system value QAUTOCFG=0 and QAUTOVRT=0. Now If A user is using B user worksation ID so B user is unable to get signon screen and as a result B user has not choice to use C,D,E,F, ... user workstation ID. This will create a big messup for us. To control this kind of situation I beleve we can define somewhere inĀ iseries or in windows workstation ID and IP address (static ip) but I could not figure out where and how. If you have any clue or suggestion kindly guide me. Thanks in advance. Syed Hasan

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

When you configure their sessions select “Specify workstation ID” then enter the device their device description in the field below. If they need to configure a second configuration if you want them to be able to open a second session and so on.

Sound like a make work project to me though…

You need to read and understand Using Telnet exit point programs. Review the topics around that one and look into the Device initialization exit program and the Examples sub-topics.

Make SURE that you understand. These and related exit points can open your system entirely if coding errors are made in the wrong places.
