Working from home connecting to work server

I am working from home and using Sky Broadband. I can connect to the internet and emails but cannot connect to the network drive. I am connected to my work VPN system. The IT department say it has something to with my ISP my ISP say they cannot support this type of connection. What can I do?

    If the ISP told they can not support this type of connection, so how does it possible to connect with the same ISP type? Also there is lack of information in your question. What OS at your home? You mentioned work server, assuming this is your office, if yes, what OS(s) is/are there like Windows/Linux/Mac? However you can try this (based on Windows OS, depends on windows versions), open control panel > Network and internet > Network and share center. Now click Set up a new connection or network under the change your networking settings. Select connect to a workplace and click Next > Use my internet connection (VPN). Now type the internet address and destination name in the box > Select and check don't connect now; just set it up so I can connect later' & click Next. Now type your VPN user/password. Then click create button and then close to finish. You can get IP address/VPN user & password from your IT persons.
