 WOL and New Windows 7 Computers

How does WOL work with newer computers? If it is enabled in bios then why doesn’t a super packet wake the machine up?

Not sure what “newer” means but I use WOL to wake up my Homeserver running Win7 Ultimate in the basement…
Specifically mc-wol 00:26:18:FB:95:B7 runs from my laptop on the kitchen table & wakes up the Homeserver every time.

I tried a few before finding this one. It’s free, it’s portable & it works!

Your server computer must (1) be in StandBy, (2) WOL via your NIC must be enabled in BIOS and (3) be using hard wire NIC – not a wireless.
