If I have a Putaway Strategy of Next Empty Bin and my bins have a set capacity of 5 KG (Maximum weight of 5 KG), then I receive and try to putaway a total of 6 units, each with a weight of 1KG (6KGs total), shouldn't it put away 5 pieces (5kgs) in the first empty bin then 1 piece (1kg) in the next bin? I just get a hard error on the TO creation saying the load capacity of the storage bin is exceeded by 1kg. Is there another setting somewhere? I have a capacity check method of "1 - check according to maximum weight" for my storage type. I thought it might have to do with the material being batch managed and the system trying to store the entire batch of 6 and not wanting it to split. But I tried with a material that was not batch managed and received the same error. I am not using Storage Unit Types, so the bin search strategy shouldn't matter or be relevant right? Thank you for any help provided!

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

I got it to work by maintaining the “LE quantity” and “Un” entries in the pallentization data in the WM2 view of the material master. But is that the only way? That would require a ton of maintenance for each material based on plant, warehouse and storage type.
