Yes, but it will turn the connection into a half-duplex link as hubs are not full duplex devices.

In addition to the half duplex requirement, you will also see a loss in network speed. a hub will turn that section of the network into a contention based “broadcast” segment. On a busy network this can slow things to a crawl, depending on how many clients are connected by the hub. It also can create a security issue as it will be easier for any system on the hub to use a packet sniffer to monitor data being sent to other nodes on the hub.

    Yes you can connect any active component to the hub. But hubs are not intelligent devices its always recommended to use switches rather than hubs for establishing the network connectivity.
