Windows XP Tablet Edition getting error with atginahook.dll
Hello, I am troubleshooting a laptop running Windows XP Tablet Edition, and am getting errors when trying to boot into Windows. The system starts up normally, but when it gets to the login screen, it has an error message which states: "User Interface Error The Logon User Interface DLL ATGinaHook.dll failed to load Contact your system administrator to replace the DLL, or restore the original DLL" The only option I have is to restart the system, which of course brings me back to the error again. I've checked all over and can find no information on this DLL (I'm assuming it's malware or a virus), and running a virus scan doesn't find anything. The system will boot into Safe Mode where I can log in properly, but Last Known Good Configuration gives me the same error. Has anyone seen this error before who can shed some light on what I can do? Thanks!

Answer Wiki:
This problem is mostly related to hardware issues. Try to find out any loose components like interface cards, ram, etc. Here is some information from Prevx, an anti-malware vendor: http://www.prevx.com/filenames/80825914960157898-0/ATGINAHOOK.DLL.html When you boot into safe mode, you can search for it and try to rename it to something like ---ATGINAHOOK.DLL Restart your computer, and hopefully, the problem will go away. I hope this helps. Craig Herberg
