Windows XP Pro cmd prompt runs very slowly when connected to Novel 3.12
I have clients needing to run old DOS utilities from a DOS prompt connected to Novel 3.12 servers. Some workstations run fine. Others take 15min to load the utility and when loaded run very slowly. We are running MSoft client for netware and Msoft IPX/SPX compatible protocol. We tried disabiling QoS and that did not help. We can't find any diferences between the ones that work fine and the ones running very slowly. They all connect with the same user name and have a mapped drive letter to the Novell server. Any ideas?

Look closely at the NIC. IP/IPX isn't called the ping-pong protocol for nothing. I think you'll find a large amount of retries.
