 windows xp installation
ive just installed xp professional on a laptop that used to have vista home premiumOEMA pre installed,it had a problem so ive formatted the hard drive and installed xp-all good!!but now that i have xp my computer has no sound and dos'nt recognise alot of the drivers on the laptop.So im wondering if anyone out there has a simple fix for me without going into each individual driver and fixing it,this could cause problems as im no techie... thanks heaps...HP Pavillion dv2000

Hi Chincy If you want to install the drivers without going to each driver one by one you can subscribe to driver genius and they will install all your drivers with a cost though. But you do have an option of finding out from HP the ftp url where you can get all the drivers but going one by one this time and tell them you downgraded from VISTA to XP. For some hardware there are no drivers for vwin xp..so you should check before the downgrade. Chech on the hp site for drivers for your notebook.

I had to do the same thing…the best (and really the only) solution was to go to the HP support site and download everything for XP for my specific system. Simply google “HP your_model_number drivers” and that should point you in the right direction.
