Windows XP domain user volume disabled

Windows XP, Users, Volume

I have many users on a domain and one user on any computer always finds the volume control disabled in Windows. Other users on same computers have no problem. So far I can't find any fix or article on this topic.

Seems silly, but check to see if the user belongs in the same groups as the others who are not having volume issues.

Thanks, yes I did check that previously and a couple more times because that kept bugging me. I have even deleted her user account completely and entered a new one for her thinking it might be some internal UID problem. So far nothing works.

Y’all can disregard this one. Suddenly I am able to uncheck MUTE which I could not do before, and the volume is now working. Apparently resetting the user account did something after all.
