From a reader: Windows Updates are not working for us. Our InstallShield updates are being blocked, maybe by something in our firewall? Not sure. Where should we start looking?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

its possible being blocked by the firewall but the question is?is the computer hook-up to the network, well if thats the case you better check w/ the system admin to enable the privileges on that computer (read/write operations) when updates are being done

You can have a wsus server on you entwork and your wsus admin disabled in group policy for you to connect to windows update.
