Hello. Watching task manager in a Win 2008 server system, i noticed that it  reports about Physical Memory: Total 3070MB Cached 2051MB Free 12MB But resource monitor reports 41% Used Physical Memory.

So how much memory is free? 12MB from task manager or 59% from resource manager?

Software/Hardware used:
Windows Server 2008

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

It depends what you consider free.

If you consider memory used by the system cache to be in use then you have 12 Megs free. If you consider memory used by the system cache to not be in use then you have 59% free. System cache is in use by Windows, but not by a specific application so it is counted in some places and not in others.
