Windows Server 2008: Installing files in the assembly

I've been trying to install files in the assembly in Windows Server 2008 but I'm running into a few problems. What I usually do is drag and drop the files into a GAC folder but when I try, I keep getting "Access is denied." Is there another way to get through this? Do I have to set up an administrator account?
