Yes it is safe to ignore 15016 when it is associated with Server 2008 and not Vista. I have found a way to disable the messages as well:
This is a real simple Registry Edit.
Open the Event and click Details. Then click on XLM.
Copy the GUID - Example {7b6bc78c-898b-4170-bbf8-1a469ea43fc5}
Open RegEdit highlight Computer, go to Edit > Find and paste the GUID. Just as shown the the example above.
Regedit will display HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WINEVT\Publishers\{7b6bc78c-898b-4170-bbf8-1a469ea43fc5}
On the right hand side, open the Enabled (Reg_DWord) and change the 1 to 0
Reboot.
Once I had done this, the errors did not appear. Although this has worked on my PC, I can not make any garrantees. Please use at your own risk.
