Dear Friends
I recently configured a Fujitsu Siemens Server with OS Windows Server 2003 SP2. Initially after the installation of the server I was facing a problem of pinging to the server from the XP and Vista Clients. After starting the ROUTING AND REMOTE ACCESS service this problem was sorted out.
After that I tried to share a folder (created on the desktop of the server). The Share Permissions Rights and Security Rights for that folder were given correctly. When I tried to access the folder from the XP and Vista clients I was not able to see this shared folder. I was trying to see the shared folders from the login ID of the users who were given the permission to access the folder.
When I type \servername on the RUN option I get a blank window.
On the server when I do the same I am able to see the shared folders. When I open My Computer --> Manage I am again able to see the shared folders over there.
When I recheck the permissions there is no problem with that also. I also confirmed that if any DENY setting is there or not. But that is also not the case.
I hope that I had made the problem clear. If any body could help me then kindly post your answers or mail me at sreejith.jaganathan@gmail.com
