So going just by those numbers it would seem that focusing on Windows would be your best choice. However, Linux has a much larger presence in web servers, and Macintosh/Apple has a good share of the graphics and design market. Choose an industry or application (such as bio-medical or graphic design) first, then focus on the applicable technology. Knowing both will take some extra time, but marketshares are getting tossed around. I would say that one must at least familiarize themselves with Windows, Linux, and Unix to stay up to date with the industry. For example, from a strictly I.T. perspective, at my company, we use UNIX, LINUX, and WINDOWS Servers because each has a particular suit that it fits best with.
