I am trying to connect a Toshiba Portege Tablet PC running XP to a Windows peer-to-peer network. I have joined the workgroup, DHCP is set and I have an IP, I can ping the file server, I can get to the Internet. I cannot see the file server (which is a Linux box)in network places, Windows indicates that the workgroup is not accessible. So I cannot see any of the network shares (folders and printers). I cannot map drives since it doesn't see the file server where the drives are. I turned off the Firewall on the Tablet. I can ping the other workstations, but when I try to ping the Tablet from other stations I get "request timed out."
What am I missing?
