Windows Mobile always prompts for Outlook credentials
My users are using Windows Mobile 6.1 to access email on our Exchange 2007. Periodically will get prompted for a password, however, we can just cancel and then it's fine. Example: I select Send/Receive, get prompted for password, Cancel, then Send/Receive again and it works. It seems like something wants to authenticate the crecentials, when it's not necessary. How can I stop it from prompting for the password?

Answer Wiki:
Well since you hit cancel and it goes through successfully then it sounds like the credentials are stored properly. Have the exchange admin look at the active synch policy. They could have set a password requirement there although that should just to be to sign onto the device, not do a send/receive. Also run through the properties of the account on the mobile device. It should have "save password" checked. It is required for secure connections. Does the Exchange CAS server have an ssl certificate?
