Answer Wiki:
What are you trying to accomplish? Windows 7 is a minor upgrade so most hardware should continue to work. I have heard good things but you must realize that the beta expires in early 2010 and you will probably have to re-install then. ============= It always depends on your preferences of Windows Operating System. Those versions of software are developed for certain users. If you feel that you are already satisfied with the features of Windows Vista OS, then there is no reason to experiment and try other Operating System like Windows 7, just stick with what you have.

You can upgrade to the WIndows 7 RC if you’d like to. It is a time limited release and will stop functioning in 2010 so at that time you would need to purchase the full release and install that (if not earlier).

Also keep in mind that if you do install Windows 7 it is not a full release, so there are features which could be added or removed before the final OS is released, and it is very possible that there are still bugs in the OS which haven’t been removed yet.

Also not all hardware companies have provided drivers for Windows 7 yet, and many won’t until it has been released or later.
