 Windows 7 Duplicate profiles
We are experiencing a high number of Laptops that keep creating a 2nd user profile for users. This is happening on Windows 7 new builds and we cannot figure out why. Anyone know why this may be occuring?

I’ve had that issue quite a bit over a year ago with the very early builds of Windows 7. I was using a single image to deploy my computers and found that it was easier to rebuild my base image rather than invest too much time into researching this issue.

What I would typically find is that the new profile would get created but upon the next reboot the user would ago back to the original profile. Sometimes pulling the laptop off the domain then adding it back would clear up the issue as well.

Things to identify before continuing:
Is this Windows 7 or Windows 7 SP1?
64 bit or 32 bit?

What version of Active Directory are you running?
