Can the Windows 7 antivirus integrate into the system to block internet or network access upon detecting a virus or threat that could not be contained?
If u r telling about in-built "Security Center" and if this is enabled (by default it is) then it may prevent access network if there is virus / malicious found ! There r 6 options specially look on Action Center.....

Are you referring to Microsoft Security Essentials ?
If so, I don’t think it can do that. You can set different alert levels and the corresponding actions, but none of them will block the network AFAIK.
