I have a problem which I need to find the source of. I am including as much detail as I can.
Here is the situation:
3 physical locations connected by VPN, each one contains at least 1 Windows 2003 server, acting as a domain controller(some have a Windows 2000 server as well). Each location also has a Netware 6.0 server.
The Windows 2003 servers at each location are acting as the backup server for that location. In order to backup the Netware server, they must have the Novell Client for Netware installed.
A new location is opening soon, I have installed a new Windows 2003 server and a new Netware server for this location. On the new Windows 2003 server I installed SP1 (the other domain controllers are not running SP1). After installing the client for Netware, I now get a message saying a service failed at startup (none of the other servers get this). I also have a Active directory replication problem every couple days that requires the new 2003 server to be rebooted to solve the problem.
I tried reinstalling this new server from scratch and I still get the same result.
Here are my thoughts for the cause of the problem:
1. Windows 2003 server with SP1 does not support the Novell client for Netware.
2. Windows 2003 server with SP1 at one DC but not on the others.
3. I have all servers in a single Active Directory site, and I need to split them.
If you have any suggestions on what steps to take first, or whether there are any known issues with my configuration, please let me know.
