 Windows 2000 server and multiple SQL Server instances
We have Windows Advanced Server with 8 GB RAM. After booting the system, how much memory will be available for user applications? I want to install three SQL server instance with each allocated 1.3 GB RAM on that one server. Will all instance have its on memory space of 1.3 GB?

Read: http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/system/platform/server/PAE/PAEmem.mspx You should end up with 7GB for applications. Just set the instances to a max memory setting of 1331MB.

actually it depends on how many applications you install and if the application will be there in startup too that will take the memory..
