I have 3 machines with Widows 2000 Pro. They all work fine for about 20 minutes then stall out,
the mouse moves but cant't click on anything and there is no keyboard input either. This stall
condition lasts about 30 seconds then returns to normal and the keyboard and mouse work again
for about 20 minutes then the stall condition happens again. I'm not even sure where to look
for the problem. Have run AVG and symatec virus checks, and spybot. No viruses or spyware. This
condition has been happening for about a year. Each of the computers run indepndent of each
other. Any suggestions ??

Check how often Symantec runs updates for virus definitions, Symantec can take up a lot of system resources and can cause a stall on your computer.
Hope this helps.

What version of SAV are you running? If it’s version 10, try downgrading to 9 or 8. If lower than 10, try upgrading.
You may also want to remove SAV from your systems completely and re-install… I’ve seen this work quite well in certain situations for me in the past. You may need to find something called “nonav.exe” in order to successfully uninstall/reinstall Symantec AV…
