I'm not very experienced with Linux. I created a Whitebox Linux server and got Winbind running to connect to our windows 2k network. I am able to print to the win network, but can't see anything there or connect to any computer/server. The Linux box seemed to join the domain OK, but can't see it in AD. Help!

A. It seems to have joined the domain. When I told it to do that, there were no error messages. The login account that I used is the administrator of the win2k network. However, when I log in to the Linux box, I’m loggin in as root.
B. The queue type says windows share(smb). Doesn’t seem to be text transfer as I get corretly formatted RTF.
c. Yes. I am familiar with the net commands. Let me try that to see. NET VIEW tells me that there’s no such command. net use tells me that there’s no such command. Net lookup allows me to lookup serviers on the win2k network. I think that I must not really be joined to the domain, because net join mydomain says ‘transport endpoint not connected’ ‘unable to find a suitable server.’ Net rpc testjoin returns Join to MYDOMAIN is not valid.
d. I’m able to ping the Linux server by address, not by name.
