 Windows XP configuration programs unresponsive
I had a hard drive that started triggering chkdsk on every boot and finding more an more bad files so I replaced it by cloning what was left with Acronis True Image. None of the configuration programs work on either drive: Add/Remove Programs, Computer Management, or Services. I re-installed SP2 but this did not fix the problem. Suggestions?

Answer Wiki:
If the data was corrupted on the original drive cloning it to another drive just clones over the corruption. So both would be bad as you are experiencing. Lesson is, back up all data and drives before things go bad.
