Network connectivity
I am trying to integrate Win7 machines in my peer-to-peer network comprising of win XP pro machines and (1)Win 2000 server machine. The network addresses are assigned by the gateway/router, and all PC's can connect to the internet, but the Win 7 Pro machines do not show the XP or Win 2000 machines with network discovery on.Is this a common problem?

Software/Hardware used:
Win 7 Pro, Win XP Pro

    Try this....
on win 7, set network to workgroup, instead of homegroup. In network page, where sharing is located, ensure that, network discovery is on, as well as sharing/ printer options also. On same screen, turn off password protected sharing & make sure, security permissions have to be changed on the folder(s) to allow everyone access. U can also check firewall settings.

Here are the changes i made in "Advanced sharing Center" that helped me see some, but not all of the networked Win XP pro computers on my Win 7 Pro machines:
    1) Disconnect Win 7 machines from the homegroup
    2) Check "Use user accounts and passwords to connect to other computers"
