Word has it that Microsoft will soon enable customers to make VMs persistent on Windows Azure - opening up the possibility of running Linux on the cloud platform. Is this something you plan to do?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

My organization will probably not host Linux on Azure initially, but will wait to see how the technology/platform plays out. For now we are running Linux hosted on VMWARE hypervisor based virtual machines with Apache, Tomcat, and Oracle based applications hosted in-house. Thanks for sharing the article/news though.

Thanks. I'd guess that many others will be taking a similar wait-and-see approach, but it will be interesting to see if Microsoft releases any adoption numbers/use cases.

Ha!  In the embedded world, we use emulators on stable platforms to host unstable development environments.  If ANYTHING, I would host Windows on a Linux OS before I'd ever consider risking my Linux servers to a Microsoft host!
