Answer Wiki:
There can be. Beyond the obvious power benefits from virtualization, Hyper-V R2 leverages the new power savings features in Windows Server 2008 R2 and System Center. Hyper-V now supports most power states in Windows, Core Parking to turn off CPUs that are unloaded, and you can set Power Budget and thresholds. Additonally, you can link those Power Budgets and thresholds to Operations Manager and VMM via the PRO integraiton, allowing for dynamic, automatic rebalancing of VMs across clusters via Live Migration.
