To get anywhere with SAP or Cisco you have to develop your knowledge and skills to the highest levels. If you're willing to earn a CCIE (Cisco's highest level of certification) or jump through the hoops necessary to become an SAP/R3 consultant--both of which involve years of effort and considerable expense for classes and exams--your income opportunities will be more or less open-ended. Thus, you should choose whichever area interests you more. That's because the satisfaction you get from doing good work that you enjoy lasts much, much longer than the satisfaction of a big paycheck or lots of job opportunities.
