How can I secure my Wi-Fi connection for my iPad Air? It's an in-home Wi-Fi network.

When you set up your home Wi-Fi network, choose to use a password when asked on the set up screen for the router/transmitter. Use a password that contains 1)Capital and Lower case letters, 2)Numbers and 3)Graphic Characters, ie:@,%, #, or *.

Ensure that WPA or WPA2 is enabled on your router and you should be able to connect using your encryption key/passphrase. If you have WPS (push-button connection), disable it. Here's why:

You can learn the specific steps for doing this by obtaining the user manual for your specific wireless router.

Use a strong password with mixed case and special characters, the longer the better at least 8 to 10 would be good to start.

First of all try to avoid free Wi-Fi connection, which are available easily. It may be a dangerous for your iPad. When creating/set up Wi-Fi, always choose complex password and never share this one with anyone even your nearest one. Try to avoid financial related transactions on the same system like fund transfer/net banking etc. Not necessary to install any antivirus/optimization tool for the same.
