Hi,

I have a basic question. This was asked to me on an interview for which i was not able to answer.

Q: WWN is a 64 bit unique identifier and is given for each port and node and also for switches. Why  do we  need an seperate  FCID in fibre channel when we have a unquie WWN. Why cannot we use the WWN for sending frames.

Thanks In Advance for your answer...
