Why is Apple’s tablet market share falling?
IDC's latest tablet report showed Apple's commanding lead has fallen from 59.7% to 50.4% in the last year with Samsung and Amazon jumping up considerably. Why is Apple's tablet market share falling? Will the iPad mini be able to halt its slide?

I think it is falling because now there are more options.  I don’t think the number of iPad owners has decreased, and I don’t think there are many people switching from iPads to other tablets.  I think it is just that more people are buying tablets now, and they have more options to choose from.

I think their market share will continue to fall, and I don’t think the iPad mini will make any difference.

I agree. I think it will be interesting to see how Microsoft’s ‘Surface’ does in the market.

I thinks it’s more options are avail as well as the pricing.Apple products, to me, always seem to run a little higher. Not sure if their pricing needs to come down to stay competitive with the other makers.
