Why do these SMTP connectors bleed into each other so much?!
I have a server with three virtual servers and five SMTP connectors. The virtual servers have their own IPS, and the connectors are theoretically one-way connects out of the DMZ SMTP gateway these are all on. It seems IMPOSSIBLE to isolate these things. Even when you send to an IP address, and if they have address spaces and one bridgehead per connector, i'm still dumbfounded as to why they keep talking and passing messages to each other. It took forever to even KIND OF understand what goes on with these SMTP connectors, especially when one is TLS. He always ends up passing TLS to the non-TLS connector. Analyzing the log files is so bizarre. As it stands, mail seems to be getting where it needs to go, but we're in the process of sending ALL organizational mail through this one SMTP gateway, but when i test it, it received 11 messages, and only delivered 3. It was impossible to determine what happened to the other eight. [sigh]
