On demand is more preferable as you dont need to convince anyone as you are doing the activities on demand only.

Most probably on demand. If you do live chat/live in person conference, but you could not convince the people, and so demand will not increase. Of course live chat/live in person conference is a part to increase demands, but on demand is always ahead than all. You can read some good magazines regarding marketing strategy and its utilization.

On Demand. This way it can fit into any ones schedule instead of having to set aside a certain block of time to watch.

Both have their own value proposition. People who like to interact during a conference would prefer live. While for repository purposes on-demand is a good option. I would prefer live followed by on-demand but keeping a track of each participant and logger.

Well, I prefer live ones. It is more comfortable for me to receive some useful information.

There is one benefit to live and that is possible a Q&A follow up at the end. You don't get that with on demand.
