Desktop and server virtualization aren’t right for every organization. At least that’s what our SearchSystemsChannel.com expert thinks. Is he right? Which organizations can benefit most from desktop and server virtualization, and which ones (if any) should steer clear?

Tough to say just yet…i think. I work for a large company (25,000 employees) and the idea is being tossed around. Currently the biggest issue is connectivity. There are too many locations where connectivity is not 100% Wireless cards help, but bandwidth can suffer when there are too many people at the same locale’. Then there are Airplanes. Currently there are no good connectivity solutions while in flight. There are still too many times when connectivity is not 100% and the user can currently continue to work offline and this would be problematic with virtualization.
