Hi I am a SAP (MM and SRM) functional consultant with work ex of 2 years. I always wanted to be in project management and during my tenure as SAP consultant I even got some opportunities to work with PM team. Now, I am looking for a change in my career. So, I am pursuing PMP certification but as I do not have any proven work ex in PM, I am not sure how much it will benefit me. So, I am thinking of pursuing "SAP Certified Application Associate - Project Management with SAP ERP 6.0" certification. Do you think this will be beneficial? Or should I stick to SRM certification and atleast land a job. (I took a break last august and moved to the US and am currently unemployed).

Thanks Aksieman. I too was of the same opinion as yours that I should go ahead with the “SAP Certified Application Associate – Project Management with SAP ERP 6.0″ certification and at the same time keep looking for a job, which I am doing right now too. I thought of completing the PMP certification too because it is geting really difficult for me to get a job so easily in US. I will need visa sponsorship. So, now that I have the time and I am sure that I want to pursue PM I think I can complete my PMP as well. But yes, first I will proceed with my SAP certification and if luck has it and I get a job in the meanwhile then PMP will be at a later stage.
Thank you so much for making thing clearer for me.
Amrathi! Glad I could help! what you want to do sounds good! Focus, Plan and go for it!
