Hi,

I would prefer both which will help u a lot in your career… in 2 ways

CCNA: will give u the knowledge on networking administration
MCSE: will give u a knowledge to adminitrate and maintain organisations which are equipped with windows based servers.

I agree. The CCNA is useful to convince users that it is not always the network's fault when applications fail to work properly. Networks are actually really resilient and standards based. Applications are typically more ad-hoc and built by multiple organizations without regards to networks that carry the information.

Is it the hardware infrastructure or software projects you are planning to move into? As per you question – I assume network infrastructure and Microsoft technologies certificates is what you are looking at. CCNA is a good choice, equally good is MCSE, but look little beyond both of these and after accomplishing both, you can go for a certification in Network Security, Information Security etc. that will provide you an edge over the others.
