Outlook 2003, Outlook, Exchange 2007, Domain controller, Outlook error messages

A question submitted on SearchExchange.com

We have a Exchange Server 2007 installed on the DC machine.

On the another machine, we have Outlook 2003 installed.

Whenever i try to access the mailbox data using the Outlook it gives the following error message:
"Unable to open your default e-mail folders. The file c:.....outlook1.ost cannot be accessed. You must connect to your Microsoft Exchange Server computer at least once before you can use your offline folder file."

Not able to figure out what could be the exact root cause of it. Being a Developer, and not having expertise in the Exchange Server 2007.

Try doing a dearch on the outlook 2003 machine for any .ost files and delete them. You have to search in hidden folders so make sure you enable the ability to view hidden folders first.
If you still get the error, go into the mail profile via the mail icon in the control panel and turn off cached mode. Try connecting again without cached mode and see if that will work. If it does, try turning cached mode back on and restarting outlook. That is, if you want to use the cached mode.
