AS/400, AS/400 search
Is every search saved from user? Are they trackable when just a last name is typed?

search im not sure, but it depends on what you want to log, if the user touches something then it will be log.

Please describe what you mean by “search”. Are you asking about queries against database tables? Or something else?

I don’t think if you are just checking if an object exists, like WRKOBJ *ALL/MYFILE would be logged. BUT if a file is opened/changed/deleted it can be logged. That’s what journaling is for keeping an audit trial of your data and all it’s activity.
