When to use Active Directory sites?
Could someone explain to me in what senarios should one use sites? What benefits do they serv?
Would I somehow benefit in using sites in my home domain of 4 clients? Or is sites intended for medium to large domains?

Primarily, you will use Active Directory Sites and Services to manage domain controller replication. You can force replication between domain controllers.
In a home domain, you would most likely use a single domain controller, so it would not be very important for you.
Sites are also used to give the client a priority when looking for a domain controller. The client computer will use a domain control in the same site as the client machine first, then if no domain controller is available it will look for a domain controller in another site.

Oh, I was under the impression sites where used for spiting up your network. Say if I had a web-server, I could put into it’s own site to separate it from the rest of the network…sort of protecting my internal network from the internet. Or for giving out IPs to my clients…etc
