I have run across the following issue: once a list of contacts is imported into Outlook 2003, on an XP Pro SP3 computer with all the latest updates, from another source such as Excel, Access 2003 or even a text file and you try to send an e-mail blast to multiple contacts in that list by highlighting them and selecting from the menu Actions, New Message to Contact, Outlook will give a message saying to first enter a valid email address.
I have imported contacts in this manner before without issue and have existing lists imported this way that still work fine. If you open one contact from a list with this issue and choose New Message to Contact the email is recognized no problem. I have tested it under a couple of accounts and different computers with the same result. Any ideas on how to fix this or suggestions on getting around the issue would be appreciated.
I am looking for a way to fix this issue for all imported contacts at once instead of one at a time. It is possible to open each one individually and double click into the actual email address, which opens the email properties. Then if you change or modify the internet format field, even just adjust it to the default choice of "Let outlook decide the best sending format" and select OK, the issue is fixed for that particular contact.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Sounds like you got stuck with a very tedious task. Were you able to find a bulk resolution finally?
