I have some Outlook 2007 users who when they try to connect to Exchange Server 2003, it will thake them 30 to 60 minutes to connect to the Exchange server. While it is trying to connect, you will see that it is trying to connect or it will saw that exchange is disconnected.
I have 5 users that this is happening to and we can not find a solution. Does anyone have any suggestions.

Also look for any delegations that may no longer be with the company, I had the same issue with a couple of email users, and it was because they had or were email delegates to users who were no longer with the company . I hope this helps you out.
